Ubuntu for you?

Linux has an operating system that is called Ubuntu. It is apparently a totally free OS. You can either download straight from the site, or get disks sent to you at no charge in the mail. I think it’s pretty neat that they are giving away an operating system with free support forums and a website that is based solely on making sure the users get the most out of Ubuntu.

The Ubuntu community is built on the ideas enshrined in the Ubuntu Philosophy: that software should be available free of charge, that software tools should be usable by people in their local language and despite any disabilities, and that people should have the freedom to customise and alter their software in whatever way they see fit.

That comes straight from the Ubuntufront page. It only takes you a few moments to check around the site and see that this is true.

I love the multicommunity feel of Ubuntu. I have ordered a cd for my Windows XP computer and my Macintosh. I hope that I can put it on the Mac and see what happens. The screenshots have thinking that this OS is like butter.

Recently on CNEt, there was an article about Canonical trying to get money for Ubuntu.

Honestly, I think that Canonical should leave it alone and let Ubuntu stay free for all.
