Talks breaking between Google and YouTube?

I can’t say that I would be sad if they did.

The YouTube site is worth over $1.6 billion. Google has already absorbed so many other websites it’s scary. The Google Video section already has a tie in to Myspace so that you can post videos straight from Google to your Myspace blog.

Hopefully the YouTube execs will realize that this merger is not necessarily in their best interests. The reasoning behind this conclusion is my own. I don’t think we need one huge myspace/google/youtube video source. Competition and variety is good. The reason Google and Ebay didn’t forge an alliance is because of the “monopolistic” venture it would have become. Google should be happy that it has nearly all the bases covered with the many sections it has to offer the public and stop trying to absorb the rest of the free internet.

A theory…my theory alone:

Google is the vehicle of the antichrist… ;)
Think about it!
