Friday, January 26th, 2007

Always on the lookout for something that will help other with Search Engine Optimization and Marketing, I have happened across many who swear by Apogee. What is Apogee? A Search Engine Marketing firm that allows you to look at your site through the eyes of a search engine to find out whether or not your site will be successful. They have tools that you can download and many resources to help you do your own optimization. The blog is also rather insightful with industry news and information on SEM. They have recently become Google AdWords certified, which only ads to their credibility. Make sure to take a look around.

Vista being released Monday

Friday, January 26th, 2007

Looks like Microsoft will be releasing their new version to the public on Tuesday. I have already seen the evaluation version of the software and I am only a little impressed. The graphics are pretty, streamlined, magnificent in function. The operation of the system, not so much. I hope that they fixed the implosion that occurred when one would try to run a pre-installed application on the hard drive. There were many bugs that needed to be worked out. I am going to be watching for any changes and let you know if there are more glitches that have yet to be addressed.

Promoting yourself: Trade Shows

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Many people have taken their wares to trade shows and been very successful in promoting themselves. How does one get started in a trade show? Well the first thing you need to look at is Trade Show Booths. Figure out the kind of layout you want. You have to make sure to maximize your space for the money you are able to invest in a booth and exhibit.

Next thing you need to do is find a show in your area. You can find shows being advertised in newspapers, online directories, and sometimes even commercials on television. Give a call to a few places so you can get an idea of how much your booth is going to cost.

After that, you can go visit a few trade shows to get a feel for what is effective. There will be lots of examples for you to glean from. Take a notepad with you so you can sketch layouts and jot down ideas. Talk to the people running the booths. Find out the ins and outs of trade shows. No one can tell you better than those who have been doing them for a long time.

Lastly, you can book your show. Once you have all the knowledge you have gained through research, there is nothing stopping you.

Good luck!

Top 10 Selling Cell Phones of 2006

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

If you are looking for a cell phone, or just want to see how yours rates, take a look at this. The list for the best selling cell phones of 2006 has been released. No matter the provider, it seems that the RAZR is all the rage in cell phones. That would explain why so many outside the US are releasing similar technology.

Motorola dominates the list with its sleek phones. All but two on the top 10 come from Motorola. There is no question as to why Samsung is stepping up their game in the cell industry. The new releases of this year should turn the tides to a less centralized list of phones. My prediction is that they will all be based on the same technology: the ultimate smart phones.

These phones can do pretty much everything. They play music, videos, and television. The phones can be used as modems, PDAs, and video recorders. There are so many features that it’s a wonder they fit into the slim packages that are being offered. Look for an explosion of smaller versions as the technology becomes more popular and refined.
