Spoof your way to jail

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

There is a new menace in town and it’s called SpoofCard. Recently I have been introduced to www.SpoofCard.com. It is a website that allows people to pretend to be someone else on the phone. You can change the caller ID display to say whatever you want, change your voice to sound like another person, and record your phone calls.

In some instances, phone call recording is a good thing BUT all these features that are made out for fun can be abused just as easily. You don’t even need a computer to use the service. You can just dial the 1-800 number, put in your information, set up your call, and away you go.

Two main points:

1.You have to buy a calling card from them in order to use the service.

2.Recording phone calls and changing your voice is free.

It’s a great way to get yourself thrown in jail.

Aesthetically pleasing, Aromas Divine

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

Japan has just gotten some new gadgets. Their SO703i phones made by DoCoMo give off an aroma that is supposed to be pleasing and relaxing. You can even change the scent with different scented sheets made specifically for the phones.

They also have a Nintendo-DS style phone with a screen that you can write on with a stylus or your finger. That phone has two screens instead of just one. The D800iDS is made by Mitsubishi Electric. I suggest you watch NTT DoCoMo. They are going to do some major things in the cell phone industry.

We have the release in the States of the new white Blackberry Pearl. It is identical to the Pearl, just white.

Review: E-junkie Fat Free Cart

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

If you are an Ebay seller, or have any type of e-business you might be interested in the E-junkie Shopping Cart and Digital Delivery service. It works with pretty much any shopping platform you may already have such as Paypal, Google checkout, and 2 checkout. It’s an all in one, no pop up system that delivers a streamlined cart for your customers.

The system works with tangible and intangible products. You can easily sell from your home or sell from the web. What does this mean? If you want to distribute an e-book across the Internet, you can do it with immediate download available right after the payment is made. You could also have registration codes delivered that quickly, too. It opens a whole new brand to the shop owner. Just think about the vast possibilities. You can offer all kinds of products without the hassle of keeping track of the transactions manually.

The system also calculates shipping rates and taxes with a built in VAT applet. It will even determine shipping based on how many pieces will fit into one box. You can test out the program for free or get a week trial before you buy. Pricing per month is based on the number of products you are selling. Service is as low as $5 a month.

Netflix now showing

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

I couldn’t even finish my thought before I saw this about Netflix showing television episodes and “B” movies across the WorldWideWeb. They are going to be allowing their customers click access to a number of shows with their “watch now” feature. There are a few issues, though. After you download the applet, you only have 6 hours to 48 hours of television available to watch based on your membership level. One major issue: It only works on high speed internet connections.

Monitor the Web

Tuesday, January 16th, 2007

New software from UpdatePatrol – A website watcher that monitors websites for changes, promises to let you check the net without a hassle. You get an easy to use interface with a widget that shows how many changes have occurred since your last view. There are screenshots available to show you what you will be working with. It is set up much like a mail browser on your hard drive. You can download a free trial and check it out before you buy. There is no monthly fee if you want to keep it. The full program is $49.95.

This isn’t just another RSS feed aggregator. This is a whole new type of program. It monitors for any changes in product sites, blogs, webpages, and other more static elements of the Internet. You even tell the program when to check for changes.

The free trial gives you plenty of time to decide whether or not to invest in the program. Go and give it a shot.
