Do stuff for yourself or for others

Posted on March 30th, 2007 in BUZZ by Bulletz

Overwhelmed with work? Chores? Daily duties? You can always log on and tell someone else “Do My Stuff!! so you don’t have to. Seriously, I was happy to see that someone is able to get freelance workers job offers that they can bid on and hopefully get a reasonable paycheck in exchange for their services. I signed up today as an advertiser and a worker. I wanted to get a feel for the site for myself.

I was able to get the Premier account for free for the first 3 months so I can try the service out fully. After that, I can downgrade to the Limited account which is still free, or keep the Premier account for $24.99 a month. You can compare the plans
and what each of them entails. Also make sure to take a gander at the features. This is a great way to get your stuff done, or find someone you can help out with their stuff.

  • Online Photo Editors Top Five

Free online photo editors are taking off on the web. Here is a list and run down of the top five photo editors online. I have used Snipshot on more than one occasion, myself. A commenter mentioned Picasa. That one is nice, but I don’t like it as much as Snipshot. I am going to be looking at the others on the list and figuring out which is my favorite soon enough. I hate always having to open a bulky program like Fireworks or a basic pixel program like Paint to get my quick edits done.

  • Brazilian tribes get free Internet

In a twisted attempt to save the rainforests, Brazil has decided to extend its reach into the forest to the native tribes that live there. Telecenters are going to be built in an effort to get all the Amazonian tribes online. It’s free, but is it worth it? What change will these people be able to bring about? I don’t know if tearing down rainforest to build the necessary data centers and electric plants will be better for preservation of the forests in the long run. Only time will tell.

  • The reject of XXX

Posted on March 30th, 2007 in Computer Tech, Privacy by Bulletz

The votes are in. There will be no .xxx domains showing up on the internet any time soon. Apparently, the argument that it will be easier to find adult content far outweighs the fact that you can FILTER the content by taking the .xxx out of the equation. I have a child who loves the internet. If he misspells a word and it takes him to a lude site, how is that better than me being able to put an easy filter on that will not allow him to go to any site that ends in .xxx ? Illogical thinking by those in the position to effect change, I say. It’s much harder to filter out every indecent image and site with the number of keywords that can be used to hide it. I say BOO to those who rejected this initiative.

  • Always in need of ink

Posted on March 30th, 2007 in Computer Tech by Bulletz

Here I am again, looking for ink. I am always looking for recycled ink cartridges, because they are cheaper than buying the brand new ones. I would rather save the money and the environment at the same time. I also try to get the off numbers since Lexmark tends to have a pricey range and a lower range.

I own a Lexmark z35 and can get the 17 and 27 numbered cartridges for a pretty good discount ESPECIALLY if they are recycled packages. Spending fifty dollars on ink cartridges is not my idea of fun, but it’s what must be done. If you can get free shipping, it’s even better.

I also can deduct them for taxes. Why? Because I work at home. I use at least 25% of my ink for my business and the other part goes to my husband’s business. Make sure to add up how much ink you bought last year before you file. You just don’t know how much of a tax deduction you will get for ink until you take the time to figure it out. We spent around $100 in ink for the year ourselves.

    Happy printing!
