Get Geeky when you Speaky

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

You might have noticed in my sidebar that I am listed in the GeekySpeaky directory. I have just recently become part of their forums as well.

It is a young forum but it has great potential. You can go there to talk about search engine optimization, paid blogging, blogging in general, and pretty much anything related to the blogosphere. The owner and administrator, Colleen Caldwell, has been featured recently in the LATimes for her superior blogging skills and her involvement in the paid blogging movement.

Take a minute and check out the Geeky Speaky forums. You won’t be sorry that you did.

Clipart for embroiderers

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Here’s one for the hobbyists. If you are quilter, embroidery lover, or cross stitch fiend, you will more than likely find Fresh Clipart ready to digitize for embroidery a rather helpful tool. You get the designs via email so that you can use them in your designs. Files are in CDR, JPG, GIF, EPS or WMF format. You can also ask for them in CMX format. Corel Draw formated graphics seem to be the best pick, though, as you have complete control over the graphics and the way they are rendered.

Some of them are free, so make sure you check those out first. You can also get sets for good prices in their Sale section. There is something for everyone on the site. I fell in love with the little reindeer, myself. Check them out and see if you can find your favorites. Let me know how you make out. I would love to see some finished products!

Getting back to basics with technology

Monday, March 19th, 2007

How do you get back to basics with technology? By making the technology look more like the basics of life: Wood! The wood consoles, keyboards, mice, and towers are expensive, but they bring the charm of nature into your computer area. You can choose from a few different designs and get the computer system that you really want with all the shiny beauty of a glossy wood finish. Seems like fun for those of us who are really into aesthetics.
