Gasoline prices dictated by mean green

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

Just as I suspected, gas prices are no longer calculated by the price per barrel for crude. Now it’s all about supply and demand…mostly demand. I believe that even if the refineries still did keep crude on hand at all times they would STILL gouge us at the pump.

Why?

The almighty dollar, baby. You can’t blame them for taking advantage of our dependence on “black gold”. I even heard a report that there will be a rise in the price of corn based gases. Yet another way to get us coming and going. You can’t pay the price for regular gas. Soon, the price for alternative gases might rival those we are paying for gasoline.

I hope they can figure out how NOT to drive us all into the poor house.

Ubuntu and You

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

I just read somewhere that computers are now being shipped that have preloaded Ubuntu Linux-based software as the operating system. I say, good show. Why? Ubuntu has been one that I was testing for a while now. I run it on my laptop from the disk. I love it. If I wasn’t so Windows-dependent I would drop them like a dead fish and move on. Ubuntu has proven itself to be a worthy, reliable system. I enjoy the workspaces it gives me. Check out Ubuntu for yourself. It’s FREE.

Marketing: Contextual Advertising

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

Many people are looking into contextual advertising as the net grows by leaps and bounds. It’s easier than ever to get targeted visitors for your product, service, or website. Buying website traffic is a cheap, effective way to get exactly the kind of hits you need.

It used to cost advertisers hundreds of dollars to get a campaign started. There were no guarantees as to who would see their ads. It was all hit and miss. With contextual links, you are able to get higher ranking in search engines as well as gain the recognition that your company needs in order to make revenue. For just $30 you can target 5,000 readers. That’s such a difference in recent figures for advertising. Take a look around and see what you think about this type of advertising for your own needs.

More Evidence that Google is the Antichrist

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

Google has just put a stake in biotechnology. Why? One would argue that it’s because of the ties the biotech company has with a huge search engine marketer’s wife. I would say it’s just a cover for their plans to take over the world. Once Google can begin to clone their own Googlites who tap into iGoogle every day with their mind controlling subliminal messages. Honestly, what does Google want with biotechnology? Start asking questions, people. They are snapping up everything in sight.

Science: Sharks can be asexual

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

That’s right. We are getting closer to finding out just how many species of animal on the planet don’t need a man. They found that there are sharks that are capable of making and fertilizing their own eggs, then hatching them as viable sharks. Talk about extreme. It’s really interesting to find out just how many species on the planet are going the single route. Apparently single parenting isn’t as undesirable as many people thought.
