Flickr kicks Paypal, users up in arms
By Bulletz. Filed in Blog Tech, Computer Tech |I just read about Flickr, the popular photo uploading service, has just kicked out PayPal as a payment option. This comes on the heels of the new release of Flickr in a number of different languages. Many are crying foul as the international users now are forced to try and find an alternative way to pay for their pro accounts. In its place, Flickr is now open to Yahoo! Wallet payments. You are able to add a PayPal account to the wallet, but only if you have a credit card attached as the backup funding method. So many users of Flickr do not own credit or debit cards that they are screaming for a change back to the original payment options. The Flickr staff is fielding a few of the questions and concerns. Their answer is this: in time, more payment options will be available. This does little to quell the outcry, as many users are being forced to drop their pro accounts as they come due in this time of waiting.

Not surprising that Yahoo is trying to funnel more money to its other ventures, no matter what the cost. Kind of shot themselves in the foot, though. I wonder how many users its going to cost them before they switch back…
