Not all hackers, but some…

They challenge companies to do better than mediocre. They challenge technology to go to new heights. Not necessarily all for security, but just to improve the quality of the products we use every day. For example, this whole issue with iPhone and hackers. There is such an uproar about unlocked phones, that I can just imagine the next step is to have a double sim car reader, as one commenter suggested. There could even be a phone that has a built in simlock so you can just add your card in and use it no matter who your provider is. In the long run, I think it will benefit all the major players to get in on some form of upgrade like that.

    True they do push the technology envelope. But they also have cost companies and individuals an untold sum of money and time.
