Google updates PageRank, many are not happy
By Bulletz. Filed in Google |Google is updating page rank, and I must say that I am not surprised the the new algorithm discounts the weight of those who have done heavy amounts of blatantly paid posts. Many a PayPerPoster is crying in their soup right now. It’s a shame that so many have been downgraded due to their involvement. Many a naysayer has predicted that this day would come, and now it has.
I think it is going to drive those who do paid posting to work harder to do more content that is unpaid. It’s just the way that the Google bombs drop…metaphorically speaking.

I will probably get hit. Oh well. I am enjoying my $13,000.00. Let them do what they want.

So it has been a few days and it appears that it was not the algorithm, but Google doing selective hits on people.
I agree with you that many PPP types need to step up their game. There are 60,000 bloggers there now and from what I see these days, there are probably 20,000 people that can’t write at all and 10,000 people that stopped writing original content and just start pushing out garbage for the free money.
The question becomes, what are the good writers like yourself going to do to protect the industry that you helped build up?
Are you going to let bad writers take a good thing away fro you?
I do not ask that hypothetically. I ask that as a person that is actively trying to fix it.

I think it’s funny that they penalize the smaller websites when other websites, CNN, Google Search, etc, have advertisements all over their pages and they don’t get a penalty.
Google specializes in online advertising it only seems like a monopoly when they try to control the flow of money to others who are providing a similar service.

I just keep writing original content in hopes that it keeps me afloat in the end. I keep busting my tail to find thing worth writing or else not write at all. I would hate to push out drivel for others to have to swallow just to make a few bucks.
It’s sad that it has come down to this. It’s a witch hunt, for sure…all in the big G’s favor. But I will tell you what, if Google thinks that their name is becoming synonymous with God, they have another thing coming.
In a way, I relish the days when I didn’t know what Page Rank was.

Mike I thought the same thing…they are slanting it all in their favor. All your internets are belong to Google.
Watch out for the revolution.

I don’t even have a PR yet! so I guess it doesn’t really hit me…but I think it’s one way for Google to keep its image clean; only then would people actually spend more time in writing good content rather than just blog for money!
