Extra storage
By Bulletz. Filed in Computer Tech |Everyone needs a backup of their backup. I think that the best way to do this is to get an online storage buddy as well as an external hard drive. We have been contemplating a number of models ourselves. The question is how much memory do you REALLY want to have in an external hard drive?
You could go for the small ones like the 320 gigabyte drive so you don’t end up with too much information on one drive. I have a habit of saving things to three or four different places just in case one messes up, so that might be my best bet.
Then there are the mega drives like the Western Digital 2TB My Book Essential USB 2.0 External Hard Drive, which gives you more memory than you could probably fill up in your lifetime…depending on what you put on the drive. We would be backing up pictures, movies, and music mostly. Those things take up a heap of memory. Terabytes might be the way to go when you look at a movie that takes up about 4 gigs on average.
Decisions, decisions. I would love to know about anyone else’s experience with external hard drives.
