One year free hosting

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

No joke, no lie. You can now get Free Web Hosting for one full year from CGI Webhosting. Why? They are giving this one year special away for the end of summer special sale. The sale is for a limited time, so make sure to check it out before it’s gone.

They boast a 99.9% server uptime, guaranteed, with round the clock phone support. CGI gives you one step installs for popular applications like Wordpress for blogs. They have backup servers, which is a must in the marketplace. Their most basic plan gives you PHP support, a website builder, and web traffic monitoring reports. Even if you don’t have any clue what I am talking about, their are plenty of tutorials on the site for you to use in order to understand what you need to do in order to accomplish your objective. You can get a plan for as low as $7.95 a month which gives you plenty of bandwith and storage space. There is no setup fee, and they have a money back guarantee. I don’t buy any hosting without these features, and with a year free you are able to test out the service for a full year before you decide whether or not to stay with the company long term. A few people that I know are already taking advantage of the special. Let me know if you do and tell me what you think!

HD-DVD Crack and Digg controversy not over

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

A famous movie once said “The Battle for Helm’s Deep is over. The War for Middle Earth is about to begin” (LOTR).

That’s the scenario on Digg today after revolution that got many users banned and a story buried. It seems that since the HD-DVD crack for Linux users has been posted, Digg has been inundated with blog posts about it. Since then, the owners of Digg were served with a cease a desist order. It’s a good thing that they listened to their patrons and decided to go down fighting, if they must go down at all. Already an army is forming to support Digg and their decision not to remove all stories relating to this debacle. I fathom that all users who have been banned will be reinstated, the stories that were removed put back, and the war will begin.

Secure your data for free

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

Microsoft Outlook users should be aware of a program that allows them to utilize better security in their email activities. You can get a free full version data security download right now and try it out for yourself. This program serves as an encryption mechanism for sensitive information that you may have to transmit through email. SecureZIP – The next generation of ZIP, isn’t a tool specifically for businesses, but will also work well for the every day user. You need to use your email address to get the download link. Check it out and let me know what you think. I will be testing this out more myself and will write a follow up review of the program soon.

edited to add

I did finally get my email from www.securezip.com to download the program. I am still in testing phases. I thought that the email would come right away, but for whatever reason it took till the next day to receive. Make sure to check your junk mail folder for the email so you don’t miss it. It didn’t go to mine, but that’s just a precaution for anyone who decides to try the program for themselves. Let me know what you think of it when you get it working for you.
