Google Chrome: No they didnt!

I cannot believe that someone sat down and made a more than twenty page virtual comic book to explain what it is that Google Chrome does. Holy crap! I stopped clicking “next” at page 21. Yeah it sounds good, but all our sites are belong to Google already. They have taken over YouTube and a number of other places that are visited every day, but they want to have it all. They are becoming like Proctor & Gamble. Sure I would like to boycott them because they give money to satanists, but it’s virtually IMPOSSIBLE to do so because there are so many products that are necessary for every day life that are made by that company.

Of course, since the browser is open source, I bet you anything that the people at Mozilla are ready and waiting to paw through the code so they can use some of it for Firefox 4. Internet Explorer 8 is about to be unleashed, but when this goes public I can guarantee they will be doing the same in hopes that IE9 will soar above the rest.

Chrome is supposed to be ready sometime today. I would love to hear what other people think once they get it on their system. As for me, I may or may not try it out due to the fact that I don’t want Google all over my stuff. I think they are the anti-christ come to bring about the real nature of “Google Earth“.

I did indeed download the latest version of Firefox, and since have also downloaded the upgrade. Talk about awesome and fast. I am totally in love. I completely uninstalled Flock in favor of the less bloated Firefox. I don’t really miss Flock, especially since my most important add-ons either still worked with FF3 or were quickly updated. I have not had FF3 freeze on me more than twice since I installed in on the 17th last month. Even my husband is foregoing his beloved Avant for my FF browser for some things he has to do on the net. Keep it going Mozilla. You have a winner here!

Apparently they want to make a big splash with the highest ever recorded numbers for downloads on June 17th. I am marking it on my calender, just so I can see if their servers can handle the mass downloading. Mozilla is nuts, but they are doing a great job promoting the new release. I am still on release candidate 1, as I like it. It’s stable and lots of my plugins work on it. I will wait a few more days to download the full featured, complete version of FF3 and just hope that I don’t get punk’d in the process.

Not really. I rather enjoy Flocking the interweb. Flock is a social networking browser. It is chock full of useful applications that don’t require any addons or plugins. You are able to set up your accounts through Flock and have one click access to it all. I can upload photos to Flickr or Photobucket directly from the browser and blog them or share them in minutes.

I can check up on my friends on sites like Facebook and Twitter. I can blog to my self hosted sites and a good number of free hosting sites. I can even access my bookmarks in del.icio.us.

If you are a Firefox user, you will love the fact that most of the extensions and add-ons you can use in FF are compatible for use in Flock. Just go to the addons page for FF and download as you would if you were using FF. I have added nearly all my other addons without problems.

Want to get a glimpse of what I’m talking about? Check out the Flickr stream of screenshots. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

Today I decided to check out all the wonders of Flock. I think I have fallen in love. I am totally cheating on Firefox with Flock. It has nearly everything. There are a few addons from Mozilla that I wish would work with this last verison of Flock, but they aren’t anything I can live without. I hope that more extensions get added on from Flock admins themselves, though. I am going to be testing this browser for at least a week before I decide whether or not to totally switch.

What is your experience with Flock?
