Tech It Like A Man!

I am forever frustrated by the way one must search through the internet. Ask has it close to right, but where can I just go to search the way that I think? My buddy Marisa just gave me a clue as to how I can do that.

The hakia Search Engine is still in beta phase, but prides itself on you being able to search the way you think and talk. For instance, if you really want to ask a question, go right ahead. The results may surprise you.

I am going to go play with it a bit more myself. I am rather pleased with them and am going to take full advantage of their Firefox extension.

Maybe not to you, but to me it does. I can’t believe how many errors and shut downs I have had between yesterday and today. The stinking update screwed up my Firefox! It was near perfect before this last download. What have you all been dealing with in this latest release?

I know I said before how I didn’t get Twitter. How can it be so danged popular? Well with this TwitterFox extension for Firefox, and having it hooked up through my AIM account, I can see why. FINALLY the bug has bitten me and I am trying to STOP myself from tweeting all day. Thanks a lot Darren. It’s all his fault. He gave me the link to the Firefox extension this morning, right after I got my things hooked through AIM. Well, here I am, tweeting along. I was wondering when this would happen. People have been complaining about how Thunderbird is a great mail program, but not as great as it could be. Why? Well, the developers were way more occupied with how to get Firefox out with it’s constantly updating versions. Firefox is the big ticket item of the two, so it’s no surprise to me that Thunderbird is looking for a new home. If they pull it off, I will be downloading it myself.

It has been a while since I got a chance to write down the thoughts in my head about the things going on in tech-land. I know you were all wondering if I disappeared, but I didn’t.

So here is a synopsis of what I have been looking through in tech news recently.

I think I am in love with the LeapFrog children’s computer. It is going to be a hit with my own son when we get him one. Anything that keeps him from hogging up my computer is good for us.

Can you guess what I am going to say about the security problem linked between Firefox and IE? Yeah, it sounds like something someone would have purposely put inside the program to make people delete Firefox.

Hearing that a lighter, video improved PSP will be out in time for Christmas irks me a bit. I know they had to make up SOMETHING for the holiday season, but now all these kids will be clamoring for the newer version when the older version is actually quite good already.

I am starting to really dislike scientists. They find a baby wooly mammoth frozen and now they want to try and clone it. Uh, they went EXTINCT for a reason. I am not trying to live in Jurassic Park.

It cracks me up that the car companies like Ford are getting more fuel efficient engines for the higher cylindered cars. With all the money they spend on getting that technology together, they could be advocating the use of GREEN fuels instead.
