Modernizing the Lottery

Wednesday, January 10th, 2007

Looks like you can finally gamble away your hard earned cash right from your own home computer by playing the lottery. TheLotter- Your Global Lottery Agent, enables you to play a number of lotteries from around the globe legally. If you don’t have the money to put down on a lottery game, there other free options available to you. It’s the funniest thing I think I have ever seen. My father used to gather up the money for large lottos and drive to Delaware just to get tickets and try to win some money. I wonder what he will say today when I call him and tell him about this new advancement in lotto play.

If you have any questions about the lottery, you can look at their short but sweet FAQ section. I don’t know that I would play online, myself, though. I would have to ask a lot more questions first.

Advertisers Gaming the Gamers

Monday, January 8th, 2007

Recently, there was an admission that there are advertisers who pay to get their ads onto billboards and such in video games. No surprise, right? We all have played a racing game to find ads from all sorts of places lining the walls of the tracks. What is the problem with this? Nothing, really, until you have advertisers who sell cheats and codes on their websites just so they can up their profits.

Gamers could redeem points worth $3.75 to buy a software “add-on” that unlocks pro shop gear to drive the ball farther. Another $3 gets Wood’s lucky red shirt (In real life, Woods wears a red shirt during a game’s final round because he says it intimidates competitors and symbolizes power).

Is this a step in the wrong direction? Can’t we have gaming stay pure and wholesome *snicker*…no I couldn’t say that with a straight face. Advertisers will exploit every means to make some money, but I think that sometimes they don’t look at the ethics of the deal.

Review: Xoxide.com

Monday, January 8th, 2007

Xoxide.com has a wide selection of equipment and accessories for extensive customization of your PC. Even minor pc mods are available and many are on sale for low prices. Check out the clearance page. They have everything you need to modify your PC right down to custom bolts and screws. I particularly like the sunbeam viking thumbscrews that are on sale right now for 89 cents. They come 6 in a pack.

The site is set up for easy access to whatever it is you are trying to find. On the left hand side there is an extensive list with deeper lists that give you access to your specified items. They have a resource center with information about useful issues like creating a quiet PC.

Gamers will find lots of keyboards made specifically to fit their needs. Like I said, the prices are right. They also sell caffeine to keep you up long enough to beat that last level of your game, or just stay awake to tweak your PC to perfection.

Check them out and see if you can find what you need. You will probably leave with a full cart, an empty wallet, and a great big smile on your face.

Microsoft giving in to the consumer

Saturday, December 23rd, 2006

With the recent wave of shoppers who were lucky enough to buy an XBox 360 came a wide range of issues for this newly released console. So many errors and complaints have come through, in fact, that Microsoft has just extended the warranty on the machine to a full year. This also means that anyone who bought the ill-fated machine at its first release and paid for repairs is entitled to a reimbursement.

Nintendo and Sony won’t be found caught in that same predicament as they already have a year warranty in place for the Wii and Playstation 3 systems. It’s a shame that it took a petition for Microsoft to realize that they needed to do something fast. If you are one of the people who were hornswaggled into paying exhorbitant amounts of money to fix your XBox, feel free to visit their support site and get more information.

Wii will, Wii will rock you…

Monday, November 27th, 2006

So far all signs point to Wii being the better gaming system over the Playstation 3. A friend of mine on Vox is testing them both right now. He agrees that Wii is better.

I like it for the sheer physical user involvement. The days of sitting hours on end staring at a screen. I am pretty sure the game developers got tired of the critics saying that people were losing out on physical fitness by sitting around eating snacks and playing games all day.

I cannot wait to see the different games that will be released to satisfy the thirst of those who end up with one of these. It’s already sold out in the US…but I bet by next Christmas they will be lower in price and more widely available.

So far, Ebay still has a few for sale and lots of XBox 360 game systems, too.
