Digital Flying Nuisance

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

Who would want a remote controlled pigeon? I’m sure that some prankster somewhere would appreciate this, but Chinese engineers have decided to try it out on REAL pigeons with implants. You are able, with the implant, to tell the pigeon what to do like flying up or to the left or however you wish. I can’t believe someone decided this was a good idea. It’s disturbing on so many levels. Next thing you know, we will have the Stepford pets!

Digital Photos in hand

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Here is a neat little gadget that allows you to keep your favorite photos close to your heart. The digital photo album has a 64 megabyte memory that holds up to 500 files. The controls are not hard to figure out, either. It has a slim design that is easy to carry pretty much anywhere. The screen has the brilliance of a flat screen television you would put into your home. It is known to be compatible with at least five different types of memory cards so it is feasible to go from your camera directly to your portable photo album without having to download anything. What can you expect to pay for this little beauty? About $200. Is it worth it? If you are like me and take about 500 photos of your loved ones, then compare the price of ink, paper, and printing it is well worth the money. I am always searching for a picture of my child, husband, or dog. It’s a shame when you don’t even have one on you. With this type of gadget, you would never have that problem again.

12 Gigabytes in your pocket

Monday, February 19th, 2007

The new Store ’n’ Go holds 12 gigs of memory and fits in your back pocket. What is it? A hard drive! No, really it is. Launchpad users can use the hard drive to run programs from on various computers without having them installed on the regular hard drive. How neat is that? Thanks to my buddy Darren for letting me know about this. It’s really neat and only about $179. It will work for pretty much every major operating system and will in stores soon. Keep your eye out for it.

Bottom-loading optical drives patent from Apple

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

I was just reading about an interesting piece of gadgetry that will increase the compact design of laptops. The bottom-loading cd drive. It would load from under the computer with a pull off lid. You would then just insert your disk, replace the lid, and presto! You have access to your cd. It’s a good idea considering that many people still want more than one drive on their laptop. I, for one, enjoy having a 3 1/2 inch floppy, a cd reader, and a burner. I am sure that others wish the same *or close to it*. Great idea Apple

Aesthetically pleasing, Aromas Divine

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

Japan has just gotten some new gadgets. Their SO703i phones made by DoCoMo give off an aroma that is supposed to be pleasing and relaxing. You can even change the scent with different scented sheets made specifically for the phones.

They also have a Nintendo-DS style phone with a screen that you can write on with a stylus or your finger. That phone has two screens instead of just one. The D800iDS is made by Mitsubishi Electric. I suggest you watch NTT DoCoMo. They are going to do some major things in the cell phone industry.

We have the release in the States of the new white Blackberry Pearl. It is identical to the Pearl, just white.
