Newer Gmail

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

What’s so new about it? Other than the fact that it is one click instant access to each email message instead of click and wait, what else changed? You tell me. I don’t see it! The newer Gmail boggles my mind. I have spoken with other more tech savvy people, and they can’t figure it out, either.

Hakia Search Engine alternative to Google

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

I am forever frustrated by the way one must search through the internet. Ask has it close to right, but where can I just go to search the way that I think? My buddy Marisa just gave me a clue as to how I can do that.

The hakia Search Engine is still in beta phase, but prides itself on you being able to search the way you think and talk. For instance, if you really want to ask a question, go right ahead. The results may surprise you.

I am going to go play with it a bit more myself. I am rather pleased with them and am going to take full advantage of their Firefox extension.

Google updates PageRank, many are not happy

Sunday, October 7th, 2007

Google is updating page rank, and I must say that I am not surprised the the new algorithm discounts the weight of those who have done heavy amounts of blatantly paid posts. Many a PayPerPoster is crying in their soup right now. It’s a shame that so many have been downgraded due to their involvement. Many a naysayer has predicted that this day would come, and now it has.

I think it is going to drive those who do paid posting to work harder to do more content that is unpaid. It’s just the way that the Google bombs drop…metaphorically speaking.

MyBlogLog and Yahoo own you

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

I am not happy. Not happy at all. People who have bought into Yahoo! account, you have the opportunity to make one for your all inclusive login.

I hate that now not only Flickr is in league with Yahoo!, but now I can’t even have my separated login for MyBlogLog. When I merged my accounts I lost my favorite MBL icon. LOST IT! It’s nowhere on the website. I now have to make do with a different icon till I find the other one somewhere among my thousands of icon pictures on my disks. Thanks a lot!

I am also not happy that all my information is being shared among all these sites through the one common bond. If they are ever compromised, so will we all be…no matter which site they hack…because they are all joined through Yahoo.

Between Yahoo and Google, the world is getting smaller and smaller.
