Sunday, April 1st, 2007

A new free service from Google and Gmail has just been launched. Gmail Paper allows you to have your emails and their attachments sent to you in paper form. It’s totally free as they print advertisements on the back of your printed materials. There is no limit to how many emails and attachments you can get sent to you. It’s all up to you as to what you want to do. They are also being environmentally conscious, as they use 96% post-consumer organic soybean sputum.

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

Yahoo! has just announced that they will be making unlimited storage accounts available to their patrons in May of this year. It’s a great move on their part as Gmail and Google are gaining moment in the world of storage and email. Inbox.com is also running to meet them with their new promotions to gain more storage for all types of media.

I am glad, I can finally just watch the email pile up and not worry about filling the box to the max.

Search Privacy: Google takes the reigns

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

It’s nice to know that Google’s execs have been thinking. They are tightening the security of their search engine by deleting private information between 18 and 24 months from the moment it is entered into their databases.

Google is tightening its privacy standards a year after it became embroiled in a high-profile battle over the control of the user information that it had been stockpiling.

Hey, I am glad that they are finally coming up with a solution. A while back I was engulfed in the privacy initiative that Pound Privacy was promoting. I continued to use their idea and I guess that it has finally taken root in the corporate offices. Now, if the other search engines follow suit we can all be happy that we are less likely to be “found’.

YouTube Pays for Play

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

SO YouTube has decided to open the doors of revenue to the independent filming masses. They are working with the BBC to pay users who upload uncopyrighted videos. It would be a great idea if we would be exposed to great films, clips, and videos of thought provoking videos. My guess is that they will end up with more videos of babies, pets, and stupid human tricks than they can handle. Hopefully the revenue incentive will build a community of people who are into quality uploads. I don’t have a problem with people who like to share their family videos or pets doing cute things, but I am talking on the larger scale…the content as a whole.

Beware fake PageRank shills on Ebay

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Here’s a head’s up for anyone who likes to buy websites on Ebay. There have been reports of sellers selling sites with fake Page Rank. Beware! You can get yourself banned from all page ranking sites pretty quickly with these types of domains. Be sure to check the page rank of every site that you might be buying from a seller other than legit proven vendors.

You can use Google’s page rank tool, Blogflux,URL Trends, and Page Strength checker to make sure what you are buying is quality. It is also good to report these people to Ebay.
