Do It Yourself Logo Design

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

One of the biggest issues for a company is to brand themselves. Even individuals, especially bloggers, need a brand. Logo Design is the easiest way to get your name and brand noticed. Many of us do not possess the exorbitant amount of funds or design know-how that it would take to get someone to design a logo, so what do we do?

You either get a friend to do you a huge favor OR you can turn to moderately priced Do It Yourself Logo Design. I just tried their free demo to see what type of logo I could expect. There are a number of innovative designs for a plethora of businesses. It was so easy that I didn’t need to go find a tutorial about how to do it. With a few clicks I was well on my way to a unique logo for my company.

When I was done, I had the option to buy one of five options from just the logo at $99, to custom made logo packets. For the more tech savvy, I would like to point out that even though I did Design a Logo Myself, I would be unable to download the file until I paid. The file comes in an EPS format so that you can put it in your favorite vector editing program and make the logo completely as you desire. For those of us not so tech savvy, you will find that you can buy a package with logos already made for brochures, post cards, and launch kits. The prices that they ask are well below the mark and you are allowed more flexibility than you would be with a conventional logo artist.

Streamline your work flow

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

I am so in need of something like this. I have such issues with wanting to be more organized and trying to find the right solution for it. I was looking into the ProWorkflow organizer which is $15 per month for their basic service. It has everything one would need to make sure they stay on task. You are able to input your jobs, when they are due, what they entail…and you are able to see how long you have been working on different tasks. If there is more than just yourself working, you are able to have a multiuser account.

For ten dollars more per month you can add invoicing for clients, for another ten quotes. They give you 100mb of memory to run your business from to start with. Upgrades are also available for varied fees. The screenshot pretty much says it all. You can see down the left hand side all the ways to categorize your work. The program is easy to read, easy to use, and you can get a free trial to make sure that I am right ;) . Check it out and let me know what you think. I will be keeping an eye on this product to see if they come out with one that I can keep locally on my computer and work with for a one time fee.

Explosion at PayPerPost

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Last night I watched n atomic bomb go off. I don’t know how many survivors are left, but those that do survive are going to be affected for a long time to come. PayPerPost has just begun it’s phase out of all non-quality blogs in preparation for the fabled money making monster named Argus. Their terms of service have been changed in order to govern the ENTIRE blog of each and every member. They are taking away the right for a blogger to control how they post and what they post in their blog. Read for yourself and see if you agree:

Appraise your Web Real Estate

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Domain names are always being bought and sold, whether it be person to person or provider to person. I always wonder how it is that one would figure out the value of their domains. Thankfully, there is a site that allows you to appraise any domain name to find out the value it has based on a number of factors. I was able to appraise every website that I own through Leapfish. I discovered that my most highly valued name thus far is where I host my spiritual blog.

Out of sheer curiosity, I checked out some other popular URLs to see how they measured up compared to each other. It was interesting to find out that Yahoo is appraised at a higher price than Google. I could spend hours on Leapfish just checking out the values of different domains. It’s so easy. If you want to get a more accurate accounting of what your domain name is worth, there is the option to get an expert appraisal.

Well, I am off to look at more domains. I hope you find it as thrilling as I do.

Marketing: Contextual Advertising

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

Many people are looking into contextual advertising as the net grows by leaps and bounds. It’s easier than ever to get targeted visitors for your product, service, or website. Buying website traffic is a cheap, effective way to get exactly the kind of hits you need.

It used to cost advertisers hundreds of dollars to get a campaign started. There were no guarantees as to who would see their ads. It was all hit and miss. With contextual links, you are able to get higher ranking in search engines as well as gain the recognition that your company needs in order to make revenue. For just $30 you can target 5,000 readers. That’s such a difference in recent figures for advertising. Take a look around and see what you think about this type of advertising for your own needs.
