Review: The V7 Network

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Recently I joined up to be part of the V7n Search Marketing Forum. As a Webmaster, you are always looking for ways to get better. The more information and feedback you have, the better your sites do on the Internet and their niche market. I have found a plethora of information and help on the forums there. A lot of times I don’t even have to ask a question, as someone has already answered it in detail.

Added into the network is John Scott’s directory. You have to pay become part of it, but that’s because it’s such a big success. Many people get tons of traffic from having their links in this particular directory. As a website owner, you will want to consider making the leap into paid directory placements. It could make or break your business.

Nuggets of wisdom can be found all over the site, including the SEO blog. Most of the articles are short, sweet, and to the point. That is the kind of blog posting I love. Just yesterday there was an article about what ranking is more important between page rank and search rank. It’s a must read to add to your daily list of sites. Come on, do it. I know you have one!

Growing a business via video conferencing

Thursday, April 26th, 2007

I am growing businesses that are actually spread across the whole of the United States. Conferencing is the best way to keep all your team members focused and up to date. One great way to do this is through video conferencing.

Recently we purchased a video camera that allows me to use it as a webcam for this very purpose. I have spoken about video conferencing before, but it’s worth mentioning again. Many people don’t think that this type of communication is necessary for small or home based business, but it makes a huge difference in the impact your team has overall.

Seeing the faces of your coworkers makes for a friendly, more intimate work place. It’s much better to work with people that you can interact with on a more personal level. In our lines of business, it’s essential to keeping the teams going. Being the owner of the business and taking the time to get on a conference call with your group makes a huge difference in productivity as they feel they are not just a number working for a faceless taskmaster. You become more approachable and easier for others to understand thereby cutting down on workplace unrest.

Even if you don’t do a video conference with your team, a team call or even a chat room specifically made for this type of interaction will do wonders for your business.

Voicemail makes the difference

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Small businesses are always fighting the big fish companies for exposure and recognition. I have found that if you look big and act big, then eventually you will become that thing which you are purporting. Business is no different.

Getting a toll free number in addition to your local line will show people that you are willing to put them on your tab to get their business. Using an answering service after hours lends validity to your business. Having someone else deal with your mail also makes a difference. The more professional your services appear, the more business you will gain. Make your business all it can be by changing your image.

Habit your way to success

Monday, April 16th, 2007

I was tagged by a blogging colleague of mine. I am supposed to share about habits that contribute to my success. So, if you are interested in how it is that I have come to call myself a potential blogul © then here is the short list of what I do to be successful:

  • Stay true to yourself. I can’t tell you how many times a blogger becomes something they are not in order to please the masses. Cater to yourself, and the audience will come.
  • K.I.S.S. in other words Keep It Simple Silly. I have to constantly remind myself of that. I have an issue with getting overwhelmed when I have a large task of any sort that must be done *especially on a deadline*. Set small goals, put things into *boxes* in your mind or on a notepad. Daily gains will reap you plenty of long term rewards.
  • Keep your focus. It’s better to be focused on one or two subjects at a time than a whole bunch at once. You end up losing your focus and POOF! You end up with mediocre work. This isn’t saying to make everything into a niche, but make sure that your works are clear and concise. We all ramble from time to time, but if you have clean cut material most of the time, you should be alright.
  • Pray and meditate. Now, I know that not everyone believes in what I believe, but this is something that helps me to stay successful. It has to do with all of the things I mentioned above. Meditation and prayer help me to stay focused and keep it all simple, while staying true to myself. Ya digg?

Marketing with unique online videos

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Today I want to revisit the idea that a video can be used as a marketing tool to get more revenue into your business. This time I want to point your attention to transparent video offered at a smashing price. This video effect makes it look as though the person who is speaking is coming right out of the screen. These videos are shaping the ad campaigns of the future. Memberships are available at $9.95 a month, but this month only will the $45 startup fee be waived.

There are plenty of articles on the site that will enlighten you about all the uses for Internet videos of this nature. Check it out. It cost you to take a look at the materials they have online for free. Let me know if you decide to take their offer this month and how you like the service.
