Conficker attacks April 1 2009

Monday, March 30th, 2009

If you have not updated your computer by now, you should do it ASAP. Conficker is set to strike unsuspecting PCs tomorrow. You need to have your Windows updated with the Microsoft patch 958644, which you can obtain from Microsoft proper (make sure you are in Internet Explorer when you do this or it won’t work) . There is more that you can do to prevent and rid yourself of Conficker. Make sure to check out the following:

I am currently updating my system, as somehow I didn’t get all the security updates. I have been avoiding Service Pack 3 for a while, since it has killed so many systems. I am figuring that these updates were probably included with SP3 when I got the notification.

You have until midnight. I just found out about it this morning, myself. Make sure you get on it pronto.

Special thanks to Marisa for bringing this to my attention.

Minority Report coming to life

Thursday, August 16th, 2007

I was watching a show the other day on television and they were talking about what Microsoft’s new technological pursuit brings. Tabletop computers…like you have only seen in sci-fi movies. For instance, this table will allow you to move things around with your fingers. You will be able to place a camera on top of the table and the table top will show you all the pictures on your memory card, let you delete, edit, manipulate them and save them. If you have an MP3 player, same thing only with music. I am happy that they have decided to move into the next generation of computers. I can’t wait to get a computer that the one on Minority Report. I found out that it broke in the news long before I saw it on TV, but it doesn’t make this tech any less awesome.

Microsoft and Google’s Feud

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

I just got finished reading a blurb about the whole acquisition and I laughed out loud. Honestly, I think it’s hilarious that Microsoft is having a cow over Google taking over Doubleclick.

Google = Antichrist. What did they THINK was going to happen? Read the Bible! The Antichrist takes over the world and lulls it into a sense of “I’m okay, you’re okay” while he thinks “all your content are belong to me”. Google is in the position to take over the Internet on all levels. They are releasing their own pay per link advertising and ousting their competition. Soon every ad on every website will be powered by Google. Just wait and see what their next acquisition is…

Are you ready for Vista?

Friday, February 2nd, 2007

A friend of mine pointed out this website that will allow you to download a program to make sure that yours is ready for Vista. If you are planning on buying, it’s a good idea to see if your computer is going to need anything. If you add the software and your system crashes, it won’t be because you didn’t check first.

No mad dashes for Vista

Tuesday, January 30th, 2007

Kind of weird that not many people came out into the cold to get their hands on the newest hot release from Microsoft. Last night was the release, this is the first full day that it has been on the shelves. There have been so many delays and patches that it seems people are more skeptical of the first version of Vista than they may be later on. I am not really surprised after all that has gone on in the past year trying to get Vista up to snuff. I predict that more people will get into it in another year or so when the software has been firmed up well enough to stand on its own legs.
