Mozilla Firefox 2:Poised for failure?
Saturday, October 7th, 2006Firefox 2 is on the brink of final release, but there has been a lot of talk about the major problem with the browser: memory. Mozilla Firefox is, and has been, the kind of browser that totally bombards your system by stealing much from the memory resources. The browser runs slowly, lags behind, has many errors because of the lag, and generally steals your memory until you fully close the entire browser. Closing tabs does not make a difference.
The competition, Internet Explorer 7, has been getting a lot of praise…much of which comes from former FF users who have since switched. Why? Less loading time, less memory wasted, overall better performance.
Opera is also about to release it’s 9th version. This browser has long overshadowed Firefox in performance and usability.
So the big question: how do they compare? Take a look at this chart . One must wonder who will win in the big browser wars.
Only time will tell.
