oidfj aoei
Recently I joined up to be part of the V7n Search Marketing Forum. As a Webmaster, you are always looking for ways to get better. The more information and feedback you have, the better your sites do on the Internet and their niche market. I have found a plethora of information and help on the forums there. A lot of times I don’t even have to ask a question, as someone has already answered it in detail.

Added into the network is John Scott’s directory. You have to pay become part of it, but that’s because it’s such a big success. Many people get tons of traffic from having their links in this particular directory. As a website owner, you will want to consider making the leap into paid directory placements. It could make or break your business.

Nuggets of wisdom can be found all over the site, including the SEO blog. Most of the articles are short, sweet, and to the point. That is the kind of blog posting I love. Just yesterday there was an article about what ranking is more important between page rank and search rank. It’s a must read to add to your daily list of sites. Come on, do it. I know you have one!

oidfj aoei
I was asked to review this site by someone very interested in seeing what I thought. I am all too happy to oblige .

FixYa.com is engineered to help consumers with technical problems they are having with their devices. There is live free tech help, a search for repair facilities in your area, and a user elected answer database. The interface is easy to understand and navigate. I adore the sticky pad rating that users can give to answers they find on the site.

One of my favorite features: You don’t have to sign up or sign in to find solutions. I hate having to sign up for a site or pay for their service just to see a simple solution to a problem. Many sites have that problem, thankfully this is not one of them.

Even though the site is still in beta, there is plenty of action. If you are an expert who wants to help out, you can register as such and choose your area of expertise. If not, you can register as a regular user and be privy to using the rating system, commenting, and such. You don’t have to be an expert to help others with their problems.

If you are a repair person, you can advertise on the site. I have done a search for repair people in my area. I am hoping that they are able to add more facilities to their database. My area didn’t have that many entries, but I hope that they can remedy this soon. I would love for someone who lives in a more diverse area to do a search with their zip code and tell me what they come up with in relation to where their home is located. Let me know!

You can also give the FixYa people your feedback. They are located on Spicypage, just like me.

oidfj aoei
Everyone is all a Twitter and I don’t see why. I just signed up for the service yesterday, pasted the embed code on one of my blogs, and watched it sit there and do nothing. It’s a beautiful shade of purple, though. I must admit the color is fetching. I liked the way I could make the color to my liking before posting it anywhere. I am going to post a blue one at the end of this so you can see what Twitter is.

The system updates every two minutes so you can see what your friends are up to. I fathom that the point is so everyone knows what you are doing at any given moment of the day. It was engineered with cell phones and instant messengers in mind, though.

My major problem is how long it takes for the website pages to load, then how long it takes for the status to recognize my newly typed in text. I am still waiting for it to say *hey your new status is now in your window* I have been writing this for about 2 minutes and I am still waiting. Then you have to wait for that information to be sent to wherever your little Twitter widgets are located.

I hope that they speed up their service. Three and a half minutes to figure out that I updated my status so they can update my widgets is beyond me. I also hope they get their IM back up and working. I just tried to set mine up and the service is down. I will be keeping an eye on them to see if they do improve.
