Marketing: Contextual Advertising

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007

Many people are looking into contextual advertising as the net grows by leaps and bounds. It’s easier than ever to get targeted visitors for your product, service, or website. Buying website traffic is a cheap, effective way to get exactly the kind of hits you need.

It used to cost advertisers hundreds of dollars to get a campaign started. There were no guarantees as to who would see their ads. It was all hit and miss. With contextual links, you are able to get higher ranking in search engines as well as gain the recognition that your company needs in order to make revenue. For just $30 you can target 5,000 readers. That’s such a difference in recent figures for advertising. Take a look around and see what you think about this type of advertising for your own needs.

Review: The V7 Network

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Recently I joined up to be part of the V7n Search Marketing Forum. As a Webmaster, you are always looking for ways to get better. The more information and feedback you have, the better your sites do on the Internet and their niche market. I have found a plethora of information and help on the forums there. A lot of times I don’t even have to ask a question, as someone has already answered it in detail.

Added into the network is John Scott’s directory. You have to pay become part of it, but that’s because it’s such a big success. Many people get tons of traffic from having their links in this particular directory. As a website owner, you will want to consider making the leap into paid directory placements. It could make or break your business.

Nuggets of wisdom can be found all over the site, including the SEO blog. Most of the articles are short, sweet, and to the point. That is the kind of blog posting I love. Just yesterday there was an article about what ranking is more important between page rank and search rank. It’s a must read to add to your daily list of sites. Come on, do it. I know you have one!

List your business, free to start

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

Continuing in my series of posts about directories…

Directories are very effective at getting the word out about your business, service, blog, or website. Check out masterseek, where you can submit your site for free for the first year and try the system for yourself. There are two other membership levels available for users. Each one gives you different submission options. At the most basic level you will be adding your link to their directory. The highest level allows you to customize every part of the business profile that others will see when they search through Masterseek. If anything, try it for a year for free and see what type of results you get.

SEO: New way to pay for play

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Organic rankings are the key to great SEO. There is a search engine optimization company that allows you to pay for performance. What does this mean? You can pay monthly for your plan according to the number of top ten rankings they get your links from the three major search engines: Google, Yahoo, and MSN. There is a set up fee, but it’s marginal compared to the savings you get from only paying for what you gain. If you don’t get a minimum of ten top 10 rankings for any given month in your agreement, that month is free. That’s the best deal I have seen thus far.

Get a consultant, rest easy

Friday, March 9th, 2007

So many people are on the Internet trying to get their sites optimized for search engines. It makes sense that many novices and people who are not able to take the amount of time and research it takes to make sure they get it done *and done right* would hire an SEO consultant.

These people are set in place to make sure that your site is at its best so search engines won’t have a problem indexing them. The blog Shimon has put together has loads of advice for those of us who do the work ourselves, as well as a consultation service for those who don’t.

I am reading through the articles right now and finding some pretty useful information. Some of the articles outline aspects that I never even thought about before like absolute versus relative URLs. Who knew there was a difference? I surely didn’t, till I read about it on his blog.

I encourage anyone who is able to hire a consultant or at least read through his savvy advice. He is a reputable voice for SEO. Just look at his impressive resume.

The site is going to be growing as well. He has pages set up already for Search Engine tools and tiers. They aren’t full yet, but I know that they will be chock full of helpful information. I can’t wait to see what he is going to be blogging about next.
